Viktor "Isildur1" Blom had a very good weekend after winning $950,000 at the high stakes tables at Full Tilt and PokerStars. The majority of his winnings were from Ravenswood13 on the PLO $200/$400 tables. Incredibly, Blom is down $4.74 million at Full Tilt since 2009. Sylvain Loosli, a French poker pro, won the $50k high roller EPT Estrellas Barcelona. His prize for first place was a very nice Euro 1,224,000. PokerStars are asking UK players to take part in their new benefits for their VIP Club - "VIP Steps". If you decide to take part, you can provide feedback before it is officially released. Participants will be able to measure their progress easily as a status bar is visible on the table which tells them where they are in relation to VIP level and their points. Check the VIP Club tab on the PokerStars UK website for more information. Martin Finger won the EPT High Roller event in Barcelona along with first prize of Euro 865,900. The prize pool was Euro 3,724,000. Intertops Poker and Juicy Stakes are now offering a $2k prize pool for sitngo leaderboards on a weekly basis throughout the month of September. There are two leaderboards, one for buyins up to $5 and one for buyins $5 up to $10. The top 30 players will take a share of the prize pool. A Spanish poker player faked his own kidnapping along with an accomplice in order to extort money from his parents. He owed money to the local poker club so the poker club Manager rang his parents stating he would cut their son's legs off and kill him if they didn't pay up. The son even begged and pleaded on the phone to his parents to help him. After the police were called in, the young poker player gave up and went hom telling his parents he had been freed. The police questioned him and the truth eventually came out. It's not clear at the moment what charges the player faces.
