At one time the SunFirst Bank was involved in Utah online poker money laundering allegations and the latest news is that the state prosecutors and FBI are investigating political corruption and questioning political donations.
According to ABC News there are two Utah District Attorneys claiming that a corruption investigation focused on state politicians and online gambling interests has revealed some evidence that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, and Senator Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah have ties to online gambling.
DA Rawlings told ABC News: “We're not ready to pronounce prosecutions of any federal officials. But I will tell you this. By virtue of somebody being a federal official-- be it an elected or an appointed official, whatever it is, does not give them immunity from state crime.”
