Update: Another Three WSOP Bracelets Taken Down

Rep Porter takes his second bracelet In the continuation of the 2011 World Series of Poker interesting and dynamic action continues, with another three golden bracelets going into the hands of winners. Namely, in Event 43: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em, which extended into its fourth day, the heads-up saw a clash between Andre Akkari of Brazil and Nachman Berlin of the USA. After several hours of difficult but exciting action, Akkari was more successful than his opponent, so he claimed the first bracelet of the day and the main prize of $675,117, leaving Berlin with a second placing prize of $419,173. Another bracelet was awarded in Event 44: $2,500 Seven Card Razz which saw Rep Porter outplay other 362 players and defeat Stephen Su in quite intense heads up. This victory brought him his second WSOP bracelet and the $210,615 winner's check, while Su received a runner-up prize worth $130,075. The last bracelet was taken down in Event 45: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em, which ended after the envisaged three days of action. At the beginning of the day, the action saw a number of big names still in the game, including Antonio Esfandiari, David Baker and Jonathan Driscoll, but it was Kenneth Griffin and Jean Luc Marais that ended up in the heads-up, battling for the main prize of $455,356. In the end, it was Griffin - a former Marine with combat time in Iraq and Afghanistan who beat Marais with his skilled, controlled style to the paycheck and his first bracelet, leaving Marais with a runner-up prize of $282,676. By the end of the second day of Event 46: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed Championship, there were 22 players still in action, led by Mike Sowers (1,468,000) and Chris Moorman (1,458,000). The third day promises some wild and unexpected action and numerous changes in the chip lead. In terms of Event 47: $2,500 Omaha 8/Stud 8 Event, Day 2 resulted in 21 players remaining and the chip lead in the hands of Michael Mizrachi. The top ten chip counts also include Abe Mosseri, Antony Lellouche and Barry Greenstein. Another event that saw its second day, Event 48: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em welcomed back 370 survivors of Day one, but the number significantly reduced by the end of the day. Still, we will see a number of reputable players back for Day 3, including chip leader Alex Bolotin, Sebastian Winkler, Leo Wolpert, Jonahan Little, Sorel Mizzi, James Mackay, Alex Bolotin, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Arkadt Tsinis, JJ Liu, David Singer, Chino Rheem and Dragan Galic. And finally, Event 49: $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball (Limit) also reached its second day 120 players remaining. At level 8, the chip lead belongs to Jimmy Fricke on 69,700 and the rest from the top ten chip stacks include Eli Elezra on 57,100, Drew Boyett, Arturo Diaz, Mike Gorodinsky, Tommy Hang, Justin Bonomo, Adam Spiegelberg, Sigi Stockinger and John Monnette. There's plenty of action to be seen at this event, however, with a whole range of notable players still in contention: Chau Giang, Bill Chen, David Bach, Pat Pezzin, Matt Hawrilenko, Joe Tehan, Gavin Smith, Shawn Buchanan, Justin Smith, Greg Raymer, Mike Matusow, Tex Barch, Christian Harder, Jeffrey Lissandro, Daniel Negreanu, Eugene Katchalov, Jean-Robert Bellande, Tom Dwan, Daniel Idema, Joe Hachem, Tom Schneider, and David Sklansky.
