Some of my readers have sent me emails asking for advice on playing on-line poker. They wonder if gambling on the Internet varies from playing against flesh-and-blood creatures in land-based casinos.
I played a lot of on-line poker in the 1990s before the U.S. Justice Department made its move on Black Friday to end Internet poker. Like many poker players in the United States and around the world, I did well at the games.
While it is true that you cannot see the body language or facial expressions of players on the Internet, people reveal their style of play by how they raise and how much they bet.
Nobody gets good cards all the time. But I recall players who would go all in on nearly every hand. It's relatively easy to beat such a player. You simply wait for a big hand and then make the call. You should win such bets 90 percent of the time.
I also enjoyed exchanging remarks with these unseen players. Internet players can live anywhere, from Paris to the Philippines. I would get into engaging conversations with them and even flirt with the females who played on-line. It was fun, it was rewarding and it was poker.
My take on Internet poker is that in many cases it can be easier to win on-line than in a regular casino. A lot of those Internet players are simply bored. They will play several games at a time and cannot concentrate on just one game or one player.
Those old tournaments were something to experience. With the small buy-ins, the tournaments could attract a lot of players. It was a challenge to outthink and outlast the players so you could make it into the winning circle.
It is only a matter of time before Internet gambling will be approved. Certain states have already set the machinery in motion to gain approval, and the federal government is carefully monitoring the process in order to collect those taxes that Internet gambling will certainly produce.
Now it's a given fact that some of the on-line gambling websites were not entirely honest. But I can attest to the fact that most of my experiences on-line were pleasant as well as profitable. The people operating those websites had a good thing going and did not want to kill the goose that was laying those golden eggs.
When on-line poker comes back, you can count on me being there. I even have an Internet name that I will use -- the Celestial Cowboy. Willie Nelson, the country legend, suggested it to me during an interview and I kind of like it.
One thing I would suggest is that if you play poker on-line, take notes on some of the players. You will notice their tactics. Some are super-aggressive while others are passive, preferring to let others do the raising. You may not see their faces, but you will know them by their deeds.
As for which gambling websites you should use once the federal government legalizes Internet gambling, stay tuned to LatestCasinoBonuses and LatestPokerBonuses.Com. You can't go wrong with the advice you'll get from our experts. Let the games begin.

Well I don't know that winning at online poker is all that darned easy. I have played for years and have from time to time gotten to the final table in a tournament or two...mostly freerolls or low buy in tournaments. But I find that it is quite difficult to win consistently...I suppose the author would tell me I nee d to improve my game in general...which is probably true.
