Another major million dollar tournament is disrupted by a DDoS attack. The Winning Poker Network suffered the attack last Sunday evening and losses due to players not being able to register for the tournamnet were thought to be in the region of $200,000. Only 1600 players managed to register.
The WSOP Europe is to be broadcast live on Twitch TV. Pokerfirma will do hte live reporting. Events begin on October 8th at the Spielbank Casino.
The "largest online poker tournament" record goes to PokerStars. Their latest series of tournaments called Common Cents offered a $100,000 prize pool for a mere 1c buyin. There were 253,698 players. The previous record was also held by PokerStars with 225,000 participants.
The latest poker pro to become an ambassador is Isabelle Mercier at Tonybet Poker. She will be promoting the Open Faced Chinese poker at Tonybet. Her first big win came in 2002 at the Master Classics of Poker where she earned $53,499 for coming second. In 2004, she won the WPT Ladies Night tourney and bagged a $25k prize. Her total live winnings are currently in excess of $1,200,000.
