PokerStars Casino has added a NEW managing director to its team, appointed by Amaya’s Rational Group, replacing Sam Hobcraft. At this time, it has not been confirmed whether or not Hobcraft will be taking on a new position with the company or making his departure.
The individual taking on the position is Bo Wänghammar, a previous CEO for Mr Green. Wänghammar’s new position will go into effect on February 1st. His primary task will be to take on an authoritative role within the company, while reporting directly to Rafi Ashkenazi, Amaya’s CEO.
As previously stated, Wänghammar spent some time at Mr Green. In particular, he spent a total of two years with the company, having most recently held the role of business development director for nearly a year.
CEO Ashkenazi commented, "We believe Bo is a great addition to Rational Group's senior management team. Not only does he have great experience in growing an online casino brand from the ground up, but he has management talent across a range of industries."
Wänghammar has already made a statement in which he commented, he plans to take the company to “the next level of growth.”
He further added, "As one of the largest and fastest growing online casinos in the world, PokerStars Casino has great potential which I'm eager to deliver on."
PokerStars is a top, online poker site, which has seen much progression and success since its debut back in 2001. It is home to a variety of popular poker games, and uses an integrated software platform to power its offerings.
