World-famous PokerStars, one of the largest gambling communities on the planet, is currently opening job positions that would help the company create and develop any fully functioning Artificial Intelligence software that will “learn how to play” poker and, potentially, other casino games. This staff expansion would potentially pave the way for PokerStars to pioneer the advanced use of AI in the gambling industry.
The company has announced it has vacant positions available in London and Dublin, and some of the roles they are seeking programmers and engineers for are Poker AI Research Engineer and Graduate Poker AI Researcher Engineer. Job descriptions in ads include a line that emphasizes the need for a "fully-flexible artificial intelligence agent" as well as the fact that candidates who prove their worth "will be working on a number of high-end products PokerStars wishes to bring to market." So far, the AI job positions are only looking for candidates who will help implement the system on PokerStars' online poker service – although it is a safe bet that, should it prove successful, it will be extended onto other games as well.
This surge in AI research will most likely extend to the site’s wishes to enhance its live poker experience – for instance, one of the uses of the AI bot-to-be is for human customers to be able to interact with them during poker tutorial matches or on offline software popular on mobile phones. It is also rumored that recruits will also be researching solutions for the brand’s real and play money sites. However, these efforts will not, at least for the time being, be applied to its Game Integrity that overlooks the integrity of the site's software.
