German player, Makarios Avramidis, won the WSOP Europe event 1 in Berlin. He took the first prize of 105,000 Euros and a gold bracelet after seeing off 197 players in the 2,200 Euros Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em tournament.
In further WSOP Europe news, another German player won the 2nd event - a 550 Euro buy-in "Oktoberfest" No-Limit Hold'em event. Dietrich Fast took first place and won the 157,749 Euro first prize.
In event 3, Richard Gryko from the UK, took down the first prize of 126,345 Euros in the 3,250 Euro Eight-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha tourney.
