Maryland Processor Enters Guilty Plea
Wright arraigned for sentencing A guilty plea was entered by online poker e-cash processor Darren Wright before Judge Catherine C. Blake in a Maryland District Court, on which occasion he admitted that he conducted an illegal gambling business. He was one of the processors prosecuted by Maryland enforcement agencies since mid-2011, along with David Parchomchuk and Ann Marie Puig. Parchomchuk entered his guilty plea earlier this year, with an aim to diminish charges of running an illegal online gambling site. His sentence was just two years' probation because he agreed to work with the authorities on the operations of the BetEd sports betting site. Wright's sentence is yet to be decided.
