Don't Cry, Argentina

Don't Cry, Argentina

I have finally discovered a legitimate female possibility to win the World Series of Poker.

She is attractive, modest as to her skills, and she was born in Argentina. Her name is Maria Lampropulos and her ancestry is Greek.

Now I don't know how much you know about the Greek culture, but they have always been known for their gambling. Maria won the 2018 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and collected over $1 million for her victory.

She walked away from the final table in a daze. Some of those in attendance even said she blushed when the congratulations poured over her.

That was the second time Lampropulos won more than $1 million in a poker tournament. She picked up $1.2 million in the 2017 PartyPoker Million Nottingham, beating a field of 1,200 players.

While Vanessa Selbst has won over $11 million in tournaments and cash games, there is no comparison between Vanessa and Maria when it comes to personality. Maria is the winner by far.

She modestly attributes her poker skills to the teaching of her boy friend and her own studious attempts to improve her game. And unlike Vanessa who recently announced her retirement, Maria says she loves poker and has a passion for the game.

Although she currently makes her home in the United Kingdom, she is extremely proud of her land of birth and her Greek heritage. She has received incredible support in her poker efforts from the Greek community.

She plans to use all her poker skills to try to win the highly coveted bracelet at the WSOP.

She loves what she has learned about poker but readily acknowledges that she still has a lot to learn about the game.

I know one thing. When all the poker pros and wannabe poker pros gather in Las Vegas for poker's biggest event, I am going to be in the corner of this 36-year-old champion from Argentina.
