Casinos' Academy Night

Casinos' Academy Night

I am calling on all the gambling casinos of the world to put up or shut up.

All those within the sound of my voice or the power of my pen be advised that I am challenging every casino to put up its best poker player against the other casinos.

Hear, hear! When all of the casinos have nominated their player, have a tournament to decide which player is the best. Then award an appropriate trophy to the winning casino.

Pride goes back a long way. Every community that I know of has pride, and this stretches to the egos of the world of casino management.

I would love to be the resident poker player of Binion's Horseshoe or perhaps The New Orleans. They would comp me my room, of course, and add free food and beverages to my comp list. The casino could host poker tournaments in my name and honor, and I could play against the rich, the famous and the unknown.

Out of this selection of the casino's best poker player could be added the best poker teams. Then you could break that down to Texas Hold'Em, Omaha High-Low and all the other games. After a while, you could build up an inter-competition between the rooms, much like the American and National Leagues, and even televise the games.

The night the casinos celebrate will be a gala occasion with champagne, tuxedos and gowns. Photographers snapping photos, celebrities hustled from room to room, and giving everyone his or her chance of 15 seconds of fame.

The present way of ranking poker players is not good enough for me. I am seeking a genuinely democratic method of choosing the best players and we could start by working with the casinos.

Poker players could act like gunslingers of the old West. They could wander from casino to casino challenging the top players and teams. It could add some excitement and gusto to the game.

Casinos could promote individual contests against their champion player or teams. They could add money or trophies to the prize list and create excitement in the casino. This would be beneficial to all the players.

Of course, my fantasy dream has been to host a masked tournament of poker players. That way you would not be aware of who is playing across the table from you. It would be exciting, exotic and mysterious to determine who would win such a masked event.

Okay Jade, Oopaloo and the others of you with a creative brain, give me some of your ideas. Make them futuristic or realistic, but make them fun and send them to me. I will be waiting.
