A Shiny Blue Convertible

 A Shiny Blue Convertible

I have my eyes set on a shiny blue convertible.

I want to buy it so I can take a trip to Las Vegas before Christmas. I will sail across this beautiful country, free as the wind that blows my hair, what there is left of it.

I already know what my convertible looks like. And once I get the money, I will go on a search and find it.

This past weekend, I went on a blue convertible weekend hoping to make enough money to pay for the car. Alas, BestBet Casino in Jacksonville, FL. failed to come through for money.

They weren't spreading my favorite game of Omaha High-Low in the poker room. I like the pot limit game and that will be spread tomorrow. I am taking the 4 a.m. Amtrak out of Charleston to get into that game.

All the way from Charleston to Jacksonville, I will close my eyes and dream of buying that shiny blue convertible. It will be a sweet dream.

Convertibles have always been a big part of my life. After I married a beauty with red hair from Cullman, ALA., we bought a white Impala convertible that gave me thousands of miles of fun driving.

After that convertible became undrivable, I bought a Ford Mustang convertible. It wasn't as big as the Impala, but it served the purpose and gave me a fun journey through life.

During my five year stay in the Caribbean, I drove a Honda in St. Kitts, an Accord in Nevis and another Honda in St. Maarten. None of them were convertibles.

No, if you have any influence with a Higher Power, say a prayer for me. And mention a shiny blue convertible in your prayer. Thanks.
