May 24 is the kick-off date for the sixth edition of a popular online poker tournament
The mainstay of Playtech's i-Poker Network, Titan Poker, has announced that the next, and sixth, edition of the European Championship of Online Poker will start May 24th with a $5.1 million guaranteed overall prize pool.
The latest prize pool is a substantial escalation from the inaugural ECOOP guarantee back in December 2007, when the company put up $2.5 million.
The first event will be a $250 000 Guaranteed NLHE freezeout, and subsequent events will feature a range of poker variants including Limit Hold'em, 7-Card Stud, Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo.
The company has also added a new attraction in the shape of a Quadric event which will allow players to compete in four simultaneous tournaments for a $100 000 prize pool.
The organizers have the Main Event scheduled for June 6 with a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million.
Running parallel with the online tournament will be a Mini European Championship of Online Poker offering tournaments at more affordable buy-in levels between May 14-23.
Titan is as usual offering qualifying satellites for ECOOPs events
Qualifying satellites for the ECOOP VI events are running around the clock at Titan Poker.
