I just joined a $1 Spin and Go at PokerStars.
The prize is $10 - winner takes all. Starting chips are 500 and there are just 3 of us.
In this kind of game, all in or fold seems to be the way to go as the first few hands begin. My hands were rubbish to start with so I was just folding. I did steal one set of blinds which brought me up to near enough my starting stack.
A few hands in and I'm BB and I'm dealt K9. I'm unraised and the flop comes down AA9. I've assumed my one opponet doesn't have an ace or he would have raised (quite an aggressive player). I bet two thirds of the pot to test the water and opponent called. The next card is a 3 and I bet half the pot and opponent folded.
About 6 hands on and two players are all in after SB bets all in and BB calls. They show their hands BB has 69 suited and SB has AK off. The flop is KQQ, the turn's a 7 and the river's a 9. We are down to 2!
Two hands on and I'm dealt A7 suited (clubs) and I'm SB so I flat call to see what he will do. He bets all in. After a fair bit of thinking, I decide to give it a go and call. I'm all in and he has 220 chips left. He shows pocket 4s. I believe I'm in trouble.
The flop comes down 9c3cQs and the turn is 10c so I made my flush. The river is a 5 and I'm now chip leader.
Three hands later and he is all in after I put him all in pre-flop. I have AK suited and he has A5. The flop is 33A and my King puts me in the lead. The turn is Q and I'm still in the lead. There are just a few cards that will help him - a 5 to give him a higher pair or a 3 to equa and share the pot. The river is a 3 and we split the pot. At this point, I'm thiking that PS wants my opponent to win or it would never have given him that card to share the pot on the river.
At one point, I let him double up with a bad call on my part. I lose some more chips and now I'm no longer chip leader. Next hand I manage to take down the blinds and regain a slight lead.
Eleven long hands later (with no play), I'm BB and he is SB. He flat calls and I check with my K8. The flop comes down K95 and I bet the pot. Opponent calls. The turn is a 3 and I bet the pot again which is just over what my opponent has in chips. He calls the all in bet and shows 29 off suit. He has 9s and I have Kings. The river comes down and is another King and I take the pot and the game and the ten bucks. What a great result for me.
I was determined to win this game although at a couple of points during the game I thought it was going to be all over for me. I'm chuffed with the result and certainly will play some more.
