  • Get ready, the sh** may have hit the fan.

For those who don't already know, Merge network is down at this moment. .

That is not what is bothering me the most rite now though. I was in the middle of a hand in a freeroll tournament when the network went down. My home network went down at the same time. I could not connect to the internet at all. Not with Firefox or IE. I lost my connection to one other poker room as well.

Now some might say that I may be one to get freaked out on conspiracy theories now and again. But it was a solid 10 minutes after the fact that I was able to connect to the internet again. It was not till after I reset my modem and router that I was able to and it still wasn't immediate. Could just be coincidence, but I have not had to reset my modem/ router in at least a month. With me online near 24/7 yo.

Straight out, for those of you in the U.S. who do not live and breathe online gaming. You may want to not continue doing so.

  • Hey Orren,

Sounds as though you think that your ISP is doing it then?

  • Nuts...I'm running around getting things ready to leave and of course had to go to my favorite place :) when I noticed what orren had to say....so I tried to get on my poker sites and it was a no... go too :( :-S.I sure hope it's only a temp thing !!I'll be totally bummed if when I get back home,I can't play online poker anymore !! !! :/ :'(

  • what poker room come out of merge network cuz for the last 1/2 hr i'm trying to logon sportbook poker and i can not.

  • I found this info:

"Players from the following states cannot play on any of the Merge’s pokerskins anymore:

        New York

        Washington

        Maryland

        Missouri

        Louisiana"

The Merge Network consists of the following sites

    Carbon Poker

    Poker Nordica

    Sportsbook Poker

    Players Only Poker

    PDC Poker

    GR88 Poker

    Poker Host

    Bluff Room (AlreadyNO USA)

    Optimus Poker (Already NO USA)

    Black Chip Poker

    FeltStars

    Tux Poker

    Bulldog777

    365 Bonitas

This is just a few of them.  I'm guessing the combination of the state you are in and the merge network sites, will not help here.

More info please if anyone has any.

  • It is back online. They must have had some interesting issues. The next freeroll listed starts in 16hrs. Normally they run every 6hrs or less.

I would put a decent amount of money betting they were changing their site so that none of the domain names for any of the skins could get seized.

As for my home network... Me playing poker online, not making deposits. I would like to think that would be the last thing they would be concerned about in my life.

So for now at least, we can keep playin yo!

  • Glad to hear that Orren - which site by the way?

    blue

  • Yup, the end is near, for people in the U.S. anyway. However, it's just a matter of time, untill the feds get their hands on it, then it should re-open, with a whole bunch of new rules. Anyway, thats my look on it, whats ya think, blue, and others?

I play at Sportsbook, Felt Stars, and AWH. They were all down and back up at same time (same network of course).

Not certain but I think I was playing at Felt Stars when they went down.

  • Thanks Orren.

Did they have anything to say about what happened and did they pay you out on your freeroll?

    blue

  • i was able to sign on for there horse freeroll this am. thought that may b of interest, since i'm from ca, u.s.

  • I know you all have said that merge was down but I played all day yesterday at AWH and G2Gpoker.  But this morning, I went to live chat and was told that g2g was off line and that they were working on it.  They would not answer any questions as to if they were shut down or anything to do with the DOJ.  I live in Texas and it is not one of the states that's disallowed.  Any word on what's going on?

  • G2Gpoker is back online and is having a Ten dollar freeroll at 2:30!  AWH is back on line too.  Back to poker.

  • There was never any explanation that I received. Nor did I receive any payout for the freeroll. I believe the just took the people that were in the pay bubble at the time and paid them. Never seen it done that way, but it was a freeroll so I can't really complain.

You should find it in their T & C about their network going down - all remaining players should receive a share of the pot dependant upon the number of chips they had at the time the tournament crashed.  I would check their T & C and have a word if it is the case.

  • Is Merge to Stop Taking US Players?

Surprising decision, considering the soaring traffic

Even though it has continued taking US players after the infamous Black Friday, which resulted in increased traffic, the US-oriented Merge Poker Network from June 3 reportedly stopped taking new US players for an undefined amount of time. Existing players are unaffected by the new policy and will continue to be serviced as usual.

This unconfirmed information follows the company’s decision to stop rake back payments. Merge’s temporary ban of new US signups so far caused a boost among its competitors, but also support and processor administrative difficulties for the company, which needs time to resolve the issues.

Prior to this, Merge stopped taking new players from anti-online gambling oriented US states, including New York, Washington, Maryland, Missouri and Louisiana.

Merge Network was highly popular among US players, and it comprises Lock Poker, Carbon Poker, RPM Poker, Hero Poker, Felt Stars, GR88 Poker, Overbet Poker, Poker Nordica, PDC Poker, and Iron Duke, among others.

With Merge’s new move, new US online poker players have a small choice of networks to play in - Yatahay, Cake, Bodog.eu and Everleaf.

This doesn't look good I have to say.

  • Yeah, I found a NDB for Carbon a little bit ago but had been putting off jumping through the hoops to get it. Finally got motivated after balances of $0.00 and a decent crap run at freerolls lately. Just for me to receive the message "no longer accepts US players".

1 day late, go figure. Almost never pays to procrastinate yo.

  • Hi Kynettie,

(I had to adjust your post so I could see what you had written)

Yes you can register for all of them if you wanted.  I'm a member at many of the merge sites.

Something I just caught in the terms and conditions when I attempted to sign up at carbon. You can only claim the first depositor bonus 1 time total on the merge network. In other words if you claimed it at Carbon and then signed up at Felt Stars, you can not then claim the first depositors bonus at Felt stars.

This is something I myself was unaware of and thought I should share, because they will let you claim it and at some sites it automatically adds it.

  • Thanks for that Orren. What a ridiculous rule particularly as you say, at some sites it's automatic.
