There is $27,000,000 to be won this festive season with the PokerStars December Festival!

This month-long celebration gives all players the chance to win huge cash prizes, including boosted prize pools in their most popular tournaments, random prizes just for playing your favourite games, and lots more from December 1st -22nd

Here’s what you can expect during the festival:

Double Vision Sunday  On Sunday, December 1, the biggest weekly guaranteed tournaments run twice, featuring the Sunday Million, Sunday Warm-Up, Sunday Kickoff and Sunday Storm!

How to win with Golden Sit & Go’s

Golden Sit & Go’s run from 00:00 ET on December 2 to 23:59 ET on December 8. Only those players who register for real money Sit & Go’s will be eligible for prizes. To win, follow these steps:

    Register for any real money Sit & Go tournament under the ‘Sit & Go’ tab in the PokerStars lobby

    As soon as the Sit & Go has filled up and is seated you will know if your table has ‘struck gold’ by the table turning into a gold theme. You will also get an on-screen message to confirm which of the three prize levels you have won

    Prizes will be credited to your account as soon as you have finished the tournament

Please Note: You can win prizes in multiple Sit & Go’s in any game type and buy-in level, including heads-up, 6-max, multi-table, and hyper-turbos. Using Star Codes on PokerStars

    Using Star Codes on Desktop: Log-in to the PokerStars client and choose ‘Account’ from the top drop-down menu. Next, select ‘Enter Star Code’ and input the relevant Star Code. You are now opted in for the mission.

    Using Star Codes on iOS devices: Log-in to the PokerStars app and press the ‘More’ menu at the bottom of your screen. Under the ‘Account’ option, choose ‘Enter Star Code’ and enter the relevant Star Code. You are now opted in for the mission.

    Using Star Codes on Android™ devices: Log-in to the PokerStars app and access the extended menu on your Android™ device. Choose ‘More’ > ‘Setting & Tools’ > ‘Account’ and enter your Star Code. You are now opted in for the mission.

Track your Mission Progress

Once you have opted in to the mission using your chosen Star Code, you can track the progress of your mission bonus in the PokerStars client by clicking ‘Cashier’ > ‘My Bonus Status’. Please Note: Even though it is possible to opt-in and complete your mission via the PokerStars Mobile and tablet app, you cannot track your progress there. If you have multiple pending bonuses, you will also not be able to track your progress in the desktop Cashier.

$700,000 Milestone Hands

At least $700,000 will be awarded in a special edition of their Milestone Hand Celebration for the December Festival. Starting at 00:00 ET on December 16, cash prizes will be awarded every one million hands, in any hand number that ends in six zeros. There will be 299 regular Milestone Hands, awarding $500,000 in cash, plus the final Milestone Hand 300. Players dealt into the final Milestone Hand will earn a huge cash prize, and everyone else playing at a table of the same stakes/game will also take a share of $100,000, thanks to the Stake Share (see below). This means there’s plenty of chances for everyone to win big.

There will be a special counter in the PokerStars lobby, where you’ll be able to check when the next Milestone Hand will hit, and how many hands there are left until the final Milestone Hand 300. The hand counter will be reset every 1M hands, and will count down from 1M to 0 each time.

Here’s how you can win in a Milestone Hand

Cash prizes will be awarded every millionth hand, across a total of 300 million hands. Simply play any real money ring game at any stake for the chance to be dealt into a Milestone Hand.

The prize you could be eligible to win is based on your activity in the previous 49 hands you played leading up to the Milestone, plus the VPPs earned in the Milestone itself.

Please Note: Only real money cash game hands dealt in the desktop and Mobile app are eligible for prizes in this promotion. Milestone Hands will not be dealt in tournaments, Sit & Go's, Zoom games, at play money tables or Home Games tables, as these are not included in this promotion."

How prizes are awarded

Milestone Hands 1-299: $500,000 in cash prizes

Players at the table in each of the regular Milestone Hands will win prizes as follows:

    Winner of the hand: (# of VPPs in last 50 hands x $60) + $100 = Cash prize

    Other players at table: (# of VPPs in last 50 hands x $30) + $50 = Cash prize

A minimum of $500,000 will be awarded across the 299 Milestone Hands. Any outstanding money in the prize pool after the 299 Milestone Hands have been dealt will be added to the Milestone Hand 300 Stake Share (see below).

Milestone Hand 300: $200,000 in cash prizes

Players at the table dealt into the Milestone Hand 300 will win prizes as follows:

    Winner of each hand: (# of VPPs in last 50 hands x $1,000) + $4,000 = Cash prize

    Other players at table: (# of VPPs in last 50 hands x $500) + $2,000 = Cash prize

Stake Share

Once the prizes have been calculated, whatever is left from the prize pool will be shared between all players that were dealt into the same stake, betting structure and game type (for example $0.50/$1, No Limit Hold’em) at the exact time the Milestone Hand 300 is dealt.

This remaining prize pool will be split proportionally among all players based on the number of VPPs each player has earned in the 49 hands leading up to Milestone Hand 300, with a minimum of $100,000 set to be paid out.

Here are some tips on how to increase your potential prize money during the Milestone Hands promotion:

    Play on more tables - If you are able to play on more than one table at a time, you will increase your chances of being dealt into a milestone hand.

    Play longer sessions - The size of the prizes depends on the number of VIP Player Points (VPPs) you have earned while sitting at the table. Try to take a seat at a table well in advance of the next milestone hand to increase the amount of your potential prize.

    Loosen up - you earn VPPs every time you contribute to a raked pot. The more pots you play in, the more VPPs you will earn. Learn more about earning VPPs on our VIP Club pages.
