Regulator says that Republican policy is out of touch with reality
The Republican Party's latest manifesto that includes an anti-online gambling clause triggered an immediate reaction from Nevada governor Brian Sandoval who said that he didn't agree with the policy, and that it would not deter the state from pursuing safe and secure online poker legalisation by the end of this year.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board chairman Mark Lipparelli supported Sandoval's statement by saying that lawmakers were uninformed - online gambling was a multi-billion dollar industry and banning it was a poor strategy that ignored reality and the future of gaming, he assessed.
